Tribute to Grandad by Ross Price I'd like to read some short memories that have been shared by Colin's grandchildren and myself. Eloise When Grandma and Grandad lived in Spain for 25 years, we would visit them. During our holiday there in April 2006 (When I was 3), we went to watch bull fighting on one of the days, I was sat on Grandads knee sucking my thumb. I remember staring at the men in awe, so fascinated, yet so confused by what they were doing, it was such a simple moment but it has stayed with me all this time. (Photo attached) Ross When we were staying out in France in November 2008, on one of the hottest days of the week my grandad was teaching my brother Miles and me how to dive into the swimming pool using the diving board. He must have grown tired of us jumping in and splashing water everywhere, so he decided to show us the proper way. Looking back, it was amazing to see, at the age of 80, someone so active. Amy My earliest memory of gramps was when I was very young and they were due to look after me. I didn’t want Mum and Dad to go out, and to stop me crying he ate a banana whole, skin and all. He managed to make me stop crying and laugh at him. I have a fond memory of being in Spain and him pretending to be our barman behind his bar. Also him showing us round his garden with the giant frog that used to live there, we spent most of the holiday in the garden drawing the cactus and that frog. Miles In Spain, when we all used to travel in the car, there were not enough seats in the Mondeo for all of the grandchildren, so there were often more than 3 of us sharing the back seats, to avoid getting caught, whenever Grandad would see a police car (or sometimes just for fun), he would tell us to duck, to which Joe would look out the window in search of any ducks. (cue laughter track) It was very amusing to us children at the time. Kate The one that sticks in my mind is him trying to convince Amy and I that his full name was Colin Raymond Arthur Price (CRAP). If you spell out those initials I'm sure you'll see the pun there. Joe I remember gramps telling Miles and me about all the items he accumulated from his travels and the civil service. All his swords and guns he used to have. Riding our bikes at their home and climbing the tree in their garden - although I don't believe I ever was able to climb it in my own... My grandad always liked to wear a hat, as I'm sure you've seen in all the photos of him over the years and the ones here today, so here's one for you
